Are You Going To Hell

Revelation 20:11-15, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

I am always amazed that any professed Christian could read this disturbing passage of inspired Scripture, which plainly teaches that Hell is a literal place where all Christ rejecters will suffer in torments for eternity, and yet deny the reality of a burning Hell. Are You Going To Hell?

Many years ago when I was a teenager, I tagged along and helped my father, who directed numerous Skid Row rescue missions. My Dad labored for Christ as a Skid Row preacher for over 30 years. At the Chicago United Mission located at 34 S. Desplaines in downtown Chicago (which was turned into a parking lot a long time ago), my father allowed a group of men from off the street stay at the mission. They would mop, clean, cook and do work around the mission to earn their keep.

I distinctly remember a guy named Smithy, who was the mission cook. Smithy taught me as a teenager how to cook eggs with butter, which I still enjoy making to this day.

Tragically, one day Smithy picked up a 5 gallon pot of scalding boiling water and the handle broke off. Smithy was burned severely and rushed to the local hospital. When he returned a week later, Smithy had a white body cast covering his entire torso. He told me that he thanked God it was water and not oil, because oil doesn't cool down near as quickly as does water, and scalding oil does a lot more damage.

Smithy told us of the nightmarish conditions in the burn ward. He said you could hear people screaming in excruciating pain, as doctors and nurses peeled away the dead layers of skin day by day. Smithy said it was as close to Hell on earth as someone could imagine. I have never forgot the frightening things Smithy saw and heard in the hospital's burn ward that he shared with us that day.

Dear reader, I don't know about you, but I am not willing to take the risk to going to Hell forever. That is why I accepted Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for my sins when I was 12 years old. I simply trusted the 'GOOD NEWS' (Gospel) of Jesus crucified, buried and physically resurrected from the dead three days later, as my only hope for Heaven. That is the only way to Heaven dear friend. There is nothing that you need to do to go to Heaven, except simply believe that Jesus did it all for you. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

Only God Can Save A Sinner

1st Corinthians 3:6-7, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.” I cannot save anybody! Romans 1:16 clearly identifies “the gospel of Christ” as “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.”

Carefully notice that no mention is made in Romans 1:16 of repenting of your sins, confessing Jesus publicly, getting water baptized, partaking of sacraments, inviting Jesus into your life, becoming a Christ follower, asking Jesus into your heart, being willing to turn from your past sinful ways, surrendering your will to live an obedient life, living a lifestyle of repentance, nor any other garbage; the inspired Scripture simply promises eternal life to “every one that believeth.” Why do men complicate God's simple plan of salvation? John 6:47, “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

How Can We Find Peace And Comfort Over People Who Have Gone To Suffer In Hell Forever?

Heb​rews 12:1-3, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.​”

There are others that I am straddling on the fence about, not sure where they went. My best friend when growing up at one time professed faith in Jesus Christ. But several years later, after I went off to Bible college and we parted ways, I met him again and he told me he was now an atheist and a communist. I was heartbroken. A year or so later he commit suicide with his father's shotgun. His name was Greg and he was only 22 years old. I have no idea where my friend went. My heart tells me he didn't make it to Heaven. But even John the Baptist while in prison, whom Jesus had said was the greatest man ever born among women (Matthew 11:11), doubted if Jesus was the Christ. So, even God's best and brightest saints can still succumb to depression, doubt and discouragement. I hope my friend was saved, but just down and discouraged at the time. Only Greg and his Creator know.

But to answer your question, there's really no way to find peace and comfort about friends, acquaintances and loved ones who've perished in their sins and gone to Hell forever. All we can do is LOOK TO JESUS as the Bible tells us to do...

I have received countless emails from discouraged believers over the years, some even talking about self harm, because they are discouraged. I always remember Hebrews 12:2, which exhorts every believer to stay focused on our dear Savior, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. What God has started, He will finish. Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” If we foolishly take our eyes off of the Lord Jesus Christ—instead focusing on this horrible temporary world, dwelling upon personal problems, thinking about things that mean people have done to hurt us, and allow the ungodliness in society today to fill our brains—then we will definitely become discouraged, disillusioned and frustrated.

I trust God's wisdom, omnipotence, love and omniscience. I cannot find peace and comfort in knowing that my best friend while growing up is likely burning in Hell forever. I laid my small pocket New Testament on his coffin as they lowered him 6-feet down into the grave. I was crying uncontrollably alongside his living family members in sadness for my dear friend, forever saying goodbye. On the way home from Bible college on my way to work, I used to stop by the cemetery and visit Greg's grave, to walk with God and pay respect to my beloved friend, wondering where he was in eternity. It is so sad and tragic.

Greg made his own choices, for which I cannot blame myself or feel guilty and sad. I have peace in knowing that God will one day wipe away my tears as He promised. Revelation 21:4, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” I don't know exactly what the phrase means, “for the former things are passed away.” I find it hard to accept that God would allow us as His children to spend eternity feeling sorrow, discomfort and depression knowing that our family, loved ones, friends and neighbours are burning in Hell forever.

Will God erase our bad memories? I don't know. Revelation 21:4 will happen AFTER the 1,000 year millennial reign of Christ over the earth. The dead (unsaved) throughout the ages will be judged and sentenced to the Lake of Fire (Greek: Gehenna) at this time (Revelation 20:11-15). When all is said and done, God will wipe away every tear. In my humble thinking, the only way God can wipe away our tears is to remove our memories of the painful past. Because as long as I can remember people who have gone to Hell forever, I will cry tears.

I simply do not know the answer to how to find peace and comfort over those who are burning in Hell forever, except that we are commanded in the inspired Scripture to LOOK TO JESUS, the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith. God knows what is best. Our omnipotent Creator would never allow anyone to suffer in Hell for their sins, unless they intentionally rejected Jesus as their personal Savior. That is why all children automatically go to Heaven. Every child's name is already written in the Lamb's Book of Life, Someone's name is not removed from the Book of Life until they knowingly reject Christ.

There have been many celebrities who died in their sins without Jesus (John 8:24). Some names that come to mind are: Gene Roddenberry, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson, Roddy McDowall, Gene Wilder, David Bowie, Steve Jobs, Stephen Hawking, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Margaret Sanger, Britney Spears, Pat Tillman and Orson Welles. Some hellbound living atheists are: Jodie Foster, Bill Maher, Warren Buffet, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, to name but just a few. Psalms 14:1, “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.  They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”

I am so glad to be a born-again Christian. I have great peace and comfort in knowing that MY NAME is written down in the Lamb's Book of Life. Jesus told me to rejoice about this fact (Luke 10:20). Every believer should rejoice that we are saved certain!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Eddie Van Halen's Damnable Religious Beliefs

John 3:1-3, “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Sadly, I am 100% convinced that Eddie Van Halen (1955-2020) went to Hell forever when he died. I have combed the internet for everything pertaining to Eddie's religious beliefs. Eddie was a lifelong non-practicing Roman Catholic. There is not a bigger cult on the planet that the prisonhouse of Catholicism, with their Sacramental Salvation and demonic Pope.

Eye hath not seen nor ear heard the horrors that the damned will experience in Hell. Jesus earned in no uncertain terms that except a man be BORN AGAIN from above, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” No amount of devotion to religion can substitute for the new birth.

I have read hundreds of comment online from people in defense of Eddie, who claim that he went to Heaven because he thanked God for his success, or because he gave money to the poor secretly, et cetera. Dear reader, none of that can substitute for the required new birth. 1st Peter 1:23, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” You get born again by ceasing from your own self-righteous works, and trusting in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Jesus paid a debt of sin He did not owe, because we owed a massive dent of sin we could not pay. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!

James 2:19 warns that the demons also believe in God, but they tremble in fear, knowing the judgment that awaits them in the Lake of Fire. Edward Van Halen spent his life blaspheming God, mocking and promoting sin, and running with the Devil. John 3:20, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Van Halen's demonic music promotes fornication, uncleanliness, lust and everything that is unholy in the sight of a holy God. Those who defend Van Halen and their filthy music are fools. They are pulling on the same rope as the Devil.

Granted, I am not God and do not have omniscience, so I don't know if Eddie was truly saved or lost. The man never made any public profession of his faith. Eddie and his brother Elec visited church one time and the world parades that one time event like they found God, but all they did was visit a church on time. Albeit, it wouldn't matter if they attended a church three times a week for 50 years, you don't get to Heaven through church membership or attendance. Churches today are filled with the spiritually dead who are still hellbound in their sins.

You see dear reader, you and I are guilty sinners. God created Hell for the Devil and fallen angels (demons), not for humanity. Sadly, when Adam sinned he opened the floodgate of sin and death into the world. We are all sinners by nature and by choice. I am as much a horrible sinner as Eddie and Alex Van Halen, and so are you friend. No one is good in God's sight (Romans 3:10-23). We all deserve to go straight to Hell and burn forever in fire and brimstone (sulfur - Revelation 21:9). But God loves you and me so much, that He made a way of escape, through faith in His only begotten Son. You simply need to believe that Jesus did it all for you through Calvary's cross. Simply receive Christ's sacrifice on the cross as full payment for your sins, believing that He was buried, but then raised up from the dead three days later. This is "the gospel" according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4.

If Eddie Van Halen's only hope for forgiveness of sins and eternal life was Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, then He is in Heaven today. But, kindly said, if Eddie was trusting in the accursed Sven Sacraments of the Roman Catholic religion, then he is now and forever burning in the fires of Hell, without rest or hope forever (Revelation 20:11-15). If Eddie was trusting merely in his belief that God exists, he is burning now and forever in Hell. If Eddie trusted in his charitable acts of helping the poor, or giving money to help poor children learn to play guitar, then he is now and forever burning in the Lake of Fire.

No one has ever escaped the damnation of Hell without being BORN AGAIN. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” No sinful priest has the power to forgive (absolve) another sinner's sin. The Pope doesn't speak for God (Ex Cathedra) on earth. The Pope may speak for Satan, but he does not speak for God. What saith the Scripture? Hebrews 1:1-2, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Jesus and the Bible are “twins” Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) used to say. The Holy Bible is the inspired Written Word (John 1:1-3, 6:63); Jesus is the Living Word (Revelation 19:13; John 1:14). Jesus is the Word of God incarnate (in the flesh).

Books could be written documenting the sins of the band members of Van Halen, and the millions of lives and families they've destroyed with their immoral ungodly influence. God only knows the insane amount of adulteries, fornication, abortions, filth, divorces, murders and wickedness that resulted because of Van Halen's sensual wicked music. But we've become so desensitized to the awfulness of sin in America (Romans 7:13), that Van Halen no longer appears as wicked as they did in the 1970's (Hebrews 3:13).

Along with worldly bands like Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Marilyn Manson and Rainbow, these are Satan's preachers. The Rock concerts are the Devil's revivals where youth are recruited. The audience are the offerings being sacrificed to demons. If you don't believe me, it is only because you are naïve dear reader of the music industry. Satan is the god of this evil world, and he controls Hollywood, the music industry, most government, the majority of churches, et cetera. This is Satan's playground.

I am a musician myself, since I was 15 years old in 1982. I have always loved all kinds of music. Eddie Van Halen was a musical guru, a gift to the world musically. Unfortunately, he was also a curse to a generation of youth. Colossians 3:5-6 and Romans 1:24-32 warn that God's judgment comes upon the sexually immoral. Just because we are all wretched sinners (Romans 3:23), and no one has a right to “judge” other sinners (Matthew 7:1-2), does not mean that Bible preachers cannot expose the wickedness of Rock music. Isaiah 58:1,“Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.”

Wicked unrepentant sinners always misquote the Holy Bible out of context, accusing Bible believing Christians of “judging.” Dear reader, if you think that Jesus' warning not to judge others, means that wicked people can sin with impunity and no one should ever dare criticize their horrible behavior, you are woefully deceived. Jesus warned us not to condemn other sinners, lest we bring condemnation upon ourselves, since we are equally guilty of sin. I am not condemning Eddie Van Halen for his personal sins. That is between him and his God alone (Hebrews 4:13). The purpose of my blog is threefold:

1. To warn others about the dangers of Rock music
2. To warn others about the deadly prisonhouse of Roman Catholicism
3. To warn others that time is running out on earth, and if you don't get born again before it is too late, you will join Eddie Van Halen in Hell

I have no doubt whatsoever that Eddie went to Hell. It is extremely rare that a man rejects Christ for his entire life, but then comes to his senses and trusts Christ on his deathbed. The simple truth is that Eddie very likely didn't know that he needed to be born again. His priest likely lied to him (Matthew 7:15), falsely assuring him that everything was okay because he partook of some stupid sacraments of the Catholic religion. Heaven only knows how many BILLIONS of deceived Roman Catholics are burning in Hell.

Read what Jesus said in Mark 7:9, “And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.” Jesus practically gives the Vatican's address in Rome! Here is a long list of heathen unbiblical Roman Catholic heresies and traditions which they have fabricated over the centuries. I cannot warn you enough about the Satanic Catholic religion. From everything that I've read about the Van Halen family, they weren't very religious. Alex became an ordained Catholic minister, so that he could perform weddings for family and friends. That is nice, but it doesn't mean that Alex is saved. Only through coming to God as a guilty sinner, by way of humble faith in Jesus Christ as one's personal Savior, can anyone be born again. That is, born by the Holy Spirit of God from above.

The Catholic church offers a fancy religious package from the cradle to the casket; they do religious right (like KFC in the fast food business). Catholicism greatly appeals to the pious superficial religious person—with their architecturally exquisite buildings, padded pews, stained glass windows, confessional booths, holy water basins, priestly garb, traditions and rituals, et cetera. But none of that is based in Bible truth. Catholics share the same corrupt distorted view of being "born again" as do the Lordship Salvation crowd. No one has ever gone to Heaven through the Vatican and their cult. YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN!!!

Evangelist Ray Comfort also gets it wrong! Being "born again" doesn't refer to a radical change in your behavior because you've trusted in Jesus. In fact, your behavior may not change at all when you get saved, nor does it have to to be saved, nor to know or prove that you're saved. The new birth is simply He (Jesus), who is the Beginning, being born in you (Revelation 1:8). We were all born physically into the world spiritually dead. That is, we were born alienated from God spiritually. This is a result of Adam's sin, which caused sin to pass down upon all men (Romans 5:12). That is why we must be born again.

There is a common misconception about Hell. Some people think that you die spiritually when you go to Hell, but that is incorrect. You were already born spiritually dead at birth (Ephesians 2:1, 2). A person who goes to Hell dies the "Second Death" (Revelation 21:8). There's an old adage that is true: If you are born once, you die twice; if you're born twice, you die once. That is, if you are born again, then you will never die the Second Death, because you already posses everlasting life (John 6:47).

I am so sad for Eddie Van Halen, Valerie Bertarelli and Wolfgang (“Wolfy”) their son (he is amazing on the guitar like his Dad). I often wonder what Eddie is thinking in Hell, and I guarantee you that he is thinking exactly what the rich man was thinking in Luke 16:19-31, begging Abraham (or someone) to go warn his loved one's about Hell, so they wouldn't end up there too. Pastor Jack Hyles calls this “the cry from beneath” (from his classic sermon titled, “Four Calls To Soulwinning”).

I would love to be proven wrong someday and find out that Eddie really went to Heaven, but nothing indicates that he did. I don't condemn anybody for their sins, but I don't want you or anybody else to spend eternity burning in Hell. If you are angry at me for saying that Eddie Van Halen went to Hell, then you'd better make sure that you're saved friend, because I am worried about you, truly. Eddie and his band spent their careers glorifying sin, not their Creator. I don't expect wicked people to understand righteousness. The world walks in darkness without Jesus Christ. They are children of the Devil (John 8:44). If you have never been born-again by trusting Jesus as your personal Savior, you are still a child of the Devil.

I feel sorry for Eddie, for all the suffering that he endured (substance abuse, divorce, lawsuits, cancer, et cetera). I suffer myself. My wife divorced me back in 2006. I am the biggest sinner that I know, because I know me better than anyone. And if you are humble and honest, you should feel the same about yourself. That is how the Apostle Peter felt about himself in the presence of Jesus. Luke 5:8, “When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” I feel the same way as Peter.

My heart goes out to Eddie's family. The world is filled with selfish jerks. I don't want to be one of them. I think Eddie in the last years of his life made the best of things to improve. I think he was a decent guy, and a good man (as far as sinful men go). But the $64,000 question is did Eddie die in his sins (John 8:24), or did he die in the Lord (Revelation 13:14)? Only Eddie, God and those already in the afterlife know. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Have you been born again?

Sadly, the average Baptist pastor doesn't preach on the subject of Hell even once every two years. That ought not be! Dear reader, do we really believe in a literal place of Hell? Do we really believe that men who die in their sins without Jesus as their personal Savior will go to burn in Hell forever? If so, why do 99% of churches today not go door-to-door soulwinning? Sadly, famous singer Jimmy Buffet (1946-2023) just died of skin cancer at age 76. He died on September 1, 2023. Jimmy was first diagnosed with skin cancer 4-years ago. I found this horrible song that Jimmy sang in 1976 titled, “My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink and I don't Love Jesus.” That is blasphemy against the only begotten Son of God, the Christ. ...

What saith the inspired Scripture? 1st Corinthians 16:22, “If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.” The word “Anathema” means “cursed.” The word “Maranatha” means “The Lord is coming.” The Bible warns that if any man doesn't love Jesus, let him be cursed because the Lord is still coming anyway!

Jimmy Buffet was a fool to sing such a horrible song. Regardless of what some may say, that the song is just a play on words, the message is clearly blasphemous against God. Jesus is almighty God:

Revelation 1:5-8, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Jesus is not merely “a god” as the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses errantly teach, the inspired Holy Bible teaches that Jesus is in fact “the Almighty” God (cf. John 1:1-3, 14; 8:57-59, 10:33).

Jimmy Buffet was tragically a lifelong Roman Catholic—the biggest religious cult on the planet. Salvation cannot be found in any religion; but rather, by faith in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:18, “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Believing on the name of Jesus excludes placing your confidence in the damnable Sacramental Salvation of the Catholic cult. No one has ever been saved by keeping sacraments in some dead church. Jesus said in John 3:7b, “Ye must be born again.”

Jimmy Buffet spent his life living large, glorifying drunkenness and acting the fool through his worldly music. His millions of fans were boozers, partiers and selfish people who just wanted to have a good time in life. Like the foolish rich man, Buffet was not rich toward God. Ironically, Forbes announced that in 2023 Jimmy Buffet became a BILLIONAIRE!!! I say “ironic” because it was the very same year that Buffet became a billionaire in 2023, that God took his life from him. Buffet made his billion dollars (much of it filthy lucre) from operating casinos, clothing, nightclubs, restaurants, booze and vacation resorts. Buffet spent much time performing in 'SIN CITY' itself, Las Vegas.

Buffet admitted that his live shows resembled Sodom and Gomorrah to some people...

Sadly, the American people are infamous for debauchery (getting drunk, lust, behaving foolishly, fornicating, public nudity, adultery, divorce, partying irresponsibly, indifference, fighting, lawlessness, et cetera). It was Buffet's 1977 hit song “Margaritaville,” and his business savvy, that catapulted him to become a billionaire in 2023.

Kindly said, by all indication, Jimmy Buffet sadly went to Hell. There is no salvation in Catholicism, only bondage to religious rituals, manmade traditions and priestly abuse. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” Mr. Margaritaville is now sadly burning in the fires of Hell according to the Word of God. Unless Jimmy Buffet repented of his false religion, and placed his trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation on his deathbed, he went to Hell. Revelation 20:15, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
