Pastor Phil Kidd Is A Dangerous Preacher

Romans 16:17-18, “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.”

His ministry website says that at the age of 16, Pastor Phil Kidd was trapped in a cycle of drugs, gangs and street life. Phil Kidd staggered into a church and after hearing of the grace of God was saved. Two years later he answered the call to preach. He has spent his years doing the work of an evangelist and traveling the country and abroad. His serious no nonsense approach has wielded him the title: 'One of Americas Most Controversial Evangelists.'

Unfortunately, Dr. Kidd is also caught between grace and works. Read what he says in this 2020 heretical sermon titled, “The Heresy Of Eternal Security”...
Lasciviousness means a license to sin. I worry about people, that when you address them about something in their life that is Biblically wrong, they say back to me: “Well, I'm saved anyhow it doesn't make any difference.” You didn’t get the same grace of God I got in my heart! Oh yeah, I don’t care if you shout or pout, I don’t care. When you confront somebody about drinking and the first thing they want to talk about is eternal security, that's lasciviousness! When you talk about people and shacking up, and say: “Look here's what the Bible said” and they say: “Well I'm saved anyway,” that's last seriousness! Here's what your Bible said, “the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.” What’s that grace of God do? “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present evil world.” If you say, “I know Jesus therefore I can live like I want to — that's eternal security,” that is heresy! You have been deceived! You are twisted in your doctrine, and you're gonna fry like a sausage in Hell when you die! You don't live like that and stay right with God. That is heresy! And for all you've fallen-from-gracers and free-willers, and all of you all that are hanging on; the next time I hear you go around talking about Baptists giving people a license to sin, I'm going to flat out call you a liar! I've never given anybody a license to sin. You get born again; you'll get out of the sinning business! [15:11 time in his sermon] —Pastor Phil Kidd, 'The Heresy Of Eternal Security'
In essence what Phil Kidd is errantly teaching is that you are not saved unless you have declared war on your sinning. That is works, not grace (Romans 4:4). The only prerequisite to be saved is to admit that you are a guilty sinner in need of the Savior. Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” The law shows humanity our SINNERSHIP, and brings us to the SAVIOR to be saved by grace alone through faith alone in Him.

I am sick and fed up and tired of corrupt preachers demanding that you commit to give up your sinning as a requirement to receive God's free gift of eternal life. And let me say that Eternal Life and Eternal Security are not two separate Bible doctrines. They are one and the same thing! If you have been born again from above by the Holy Spirit of God, then you have eternal life and it is eternally secure. You have been indwelt and sealed with God's blessed Holy Spirit, and that is eternal security dear reader. If saved, always saved!

Beware of Evangelist Phil Kidd, because he is wickedly mixing works with grace, confusing tens of thousands of his listening audience. Somewhere along the way these incompetent sailing preachers have lost sight of the harbor. That is, they have lost sight of the Biblical truth that eternal life is a free gift, paid for in full by the precious blood of Jesus (Romans 5:15-18, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1st Peter 1:18-19).

No Child Of God Has The Lord's Permission To Sin

And let me clarify that no one has God's permission or blessing to commit sin. Romans 6:1-2, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” A Christian can only fall “in grace,” but never “from grace.” You cannot out-sin the grace of God! Sin cannot triumph over the cross and the blood! The more that a believer sins, the more God's saving grace will abound, so that one's eternal life can never be jeopardized, given back to God or forfeited.

2nd Timothy 2:19, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” God's redeemed children should be the most honest, decent, upright, cheerful, forgiving and good people in town.

But just because some believers may not be living for the Lord doesn't mean that they were never saved. That is why God put Galatians 6:1-2 in the Bible, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.” God is literally reminding you and me dear friend that we are no better than the sister in Christ who commit adultery, or our Christian brother who just went to prison for committing a crime. We all have dirt on our hands!

Once Saved, Always Saved

The old adage is very true: ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED! If you deny that truth you are not saved. The reason why you are not saved is because you obviously think that YOU must do something to maintain a state of salvation. But dear friend, salvation is not a state, it is a new birth by the Holy Spirit of God (John 1:12-13).

That is why I expose the ungodly Salvation Army, who in their official Statement of Faith refer to salvation as a state that YOU must maintain...
“We believe that continuance in a state of salvation depends upon continued obedient faith in Christ.”

SOURCE: 1878 Foundation Deed Of The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army follows the heresy of their founders, William and Catherine Booth, who considered salvation a “state” that could be lost if one fails to continue in obedient faith. May I say, salvation is NOT a “state,” it is a new birth. It is a second birth, a spiritual birth. The teaching that salvation is a “state” that is conditional upon “continued obedient faith” is demonic works-salvation. The believer's salvation is secure in Christ's finished work of redemption. The blood has been applied to the heavenly Mercy Seat (Hebrews 9:12,24). The price has been paid. The PRICE is Jesus' blood, and the PLACE is the heavenly Mercy Seat.

Tares Among The Wheat

But what about those professed Christians who stray away from the faith years later, some even claiming to become atheists? What saith the Scripture? 1st John 2:19, “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” The Bible is clear that they were never saved at all. If you are truly saved, then the indwelling Holy Spirit will persevere. I didn't say that the believer will persevere (which is what Calvinists falsely teach), I said that the Holy Spirit will persevere (Hebrews 13:5). ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED!

Dr. Kidd is subtle, intentionally mixing truth with error to confuse his listeners. He is right that it would be wrong for a believer to have a dismissive attitude toward sin. Nobody has a right to live in sin just because we are saved. But dear reader, that is exactly what we all do, isn't it.

We all sin continually in one way or another, both in deed and in thought, but God never once sanctions our sinning. 1st John 2:1, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” You see, the Lord doesn't want us to sin, but since we are still in the flesh in human form we will sometimes sin, and Jesus is our Advocate (our Defense Attorney who stands by our side on our behalf as our Redeemer). And you ought to thank God continually that this is so, or we'd all burn in Hell fire and brimstone forever for our sins!

No One Ever “Turns” From Their Sins

There is no such thing as “repenting of your sins” or “turning from your sins.” I don't care how long you may have been a born again Christian, you still sin every day, and so do I. You may clean up your life enough to live above reproach, but you are still a dirty wicked sinner. We are still filthy pigs! The whole idea of telling someone to “turn from your sins” to get to Heaven is flawed, because you are asking them to do something that is IMPOSSIBLE.

Do you not understand that to enter into God's Kingdom you must be absolutely sinless and perfect in every way? Good people don't go to Heaven, perfect people do! That excludes you and me, and the other 8.3 billion imperfect sinners on the planet today. So how does anyone get to Heaven? Ah, that is why God sent His only begotten Son Jesus into the world, who lived a perfect sinless life, and died a sinner's death on Calvary's cross for you and me. Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt that we could not pay. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!

So, we can go to Heaven on Christ's merit. The moment that you come to God as an admitted guilty sinner, and by faith (taking God at His written Word) place your childlike faith (trust, reliance) in Jesus' death on the cross, burial and physical resurrection from the dead three days later, God reads your mind and He saves you. It's that simple.

The only thing that changes at the moment of salvation is that God gives you His gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and He begins to work to change you. But depending on the influence of your friends and family, whether or not you attend a good Bible-believing soulwinning church, if you use only the King James Bible, and other factors, will determine if you grow in grace or languish in immaturity as a babe in Christ.

Many believers never mature (as we learn about in the parable of The Sower And The Seed in Luke 8:11-15). This parable is commonly mistaken as a passage on salvation, but it is about maturing as a believer to win souls. Many babes in Christ today are not in an environment conducive to growth in grace, so they become stunted and retarded as saints, still worldly and out of church. That is the local church's fault for not obeying The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

Ignorance Of The Scripture Is The Problem

The main reason why there is so much false doctrine circulating in the churches today is simply because of woeful ignorance of the Scripture. We live in a nation of Biblical ignoramuses today! Pastor J. Vernon McGee (1904-1988) said that, and he's absolutely right.

I am sick and fed up and tired of hearing ignorant pastors teach that repentance results in a change of behavior. No Sir, that is the heresy of Lordship Salvation, requiring works to prove that you've been saved. In sharp contrast, the inspired Holy Bible teaches in Galatians 5:22-26 that a changed life is the result of the fruit of the indwelling Holy Spirit. ...
Galatians 5:22-26, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Do you see dear reader? God saves the vilest sinner, just as you are without the least desire to live right or turn from your sinning; but then once you are IN CHRIST (2nd Corinthians 5:17), the indwelling Holy Spirit starts to convict and change you, and in time if you choose daily to Walk in the Spirit, then Jesus will live the Christian life THROUGH YOU. What saith the Scripture? Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Many new believers try to live right and fail and fail and fail, because they haven't learned yet that you live the Christian life the same exact way that you got saved, BY FAITH. 2nd Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

The dire mistake that Dr. Phil Kidd is making is that he is placing the impossible heavy burden upon the sinner's shoulder to live right, associating their eternal security with their behavior, which is evil and wrong to do. My favorite preacher's quote is by Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan (1628-1688)...
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)
During Phil Kidd's sermon, 'The Heresy Of Eternal Security,' he pauses half way through and says that it is quite in the auditorium. Of course it was, because he freaked them out by denying one of the most fundamental teachings in God's Word, that every redeemed child of God has eternal security!!! Those poor people were as confused as ever because of a bad and theologically incompetent preacher. Eternal Life is Eternal Security!

We Have Liberty Through Faith In Jesus

The Bible teaches that before someone is saved, we are in bondage under the curse of the Mosaic law (aka, the Ten Commandments). But when we get saved, all of our sins (past, present and future) are washed away by the precious blood of the Lamb. We are now under liberty, so that we can never (no matter how we choose to live) be under bondage again. If we couldn't be saved by good works, then we cannot be lost by bad works. We are under grace.

That being said, God doesn't want us to use our new found liberty in Christ as a cloak for sin:
Galatians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”

Galatians 5:13, “For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.”

James 1:25, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

1st Peter 2:16, “As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.”
When we got saved, our POSITION in Christ was forever settled; but how we choose to live from day to day is our CONDITION in Christ. One thing has nothing to do with the other. The former is salvation, the latter is service. The former is sonship, the latter is discipleship. We are saved by faith in “the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29b). How we choose to live our life as a child of God has absolutely nothing to do with being saved, for if it did then it couldn't be a free gift.

Phil Kidd couldn't be more wrong. I have no doubt that he is sincere, but Hell if full of sincere people. Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” This is a very serious matter folks.

In the quote from Phil Kidd that I shared with you at the beginning of this article, he says that you'll “fry like a sausage in Hell” if you're still shacking up, getting drunk and living in sin as a Christian and refuse to stop. He is very wrong and confused as a preacher!

Later in the sermon he says:
They’re deluded in thinking that a prayer that never altered their life will get them into Heaven. [21:06 time in sermon]
Well, first of all you don't get saved by praying, although it is perfectly okay to accompany one's faith in the Gospel with a sinner's prayer (which is a natural desire to do). You just need to understand that you could just as easily believe on Jesus in your heart, and never open your mouth, and still be saved. Furthermore, getting saved DOESN'T alter your life! As I explained earlier, a changed life is the fruit of the Spirit of Christ (Romans 8:9) living the Christian life through you by faith. Repentance (thinking differently) from unbelief to belief at the time of salvation has NOTHING to do with behavior modification.

That is why I expose Pensacola Christian College (PCC) for errantly teaching that “Repentance is a change of mind resulting in a change of behavior.” That is their official teaching at Campus Church in their Foundation's Class. It is damnable heresy! That is the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation! Any time a preacher associates your behavior changing with God's free gift of eternal life, he has perverted the grace of God.

Kindly said, run from Dr. Phil Kidd!
