2nd Corinthians 11:3-4, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
The inspired Word of God plainly talks about the “simplicity that is in Christ.” That means it is easy to get to Heaven. There is nothing complicated about God's simple plan of salvation.
Take another close look at what the King James Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 11:3, and then let's compare it to the New International Version (NIV), English Standard Version (ESV), Easy-To-Read Version (ERV), Christian Standard Bible (CSB), Authorized Standard Version (ASV), Good News Translation (GNT), Living Bible (TLB), and the Amplified Bible (AMP):
KJB - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
NIV - But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
ESV - But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
ERV - But I am afraid that your minds will be led away from your true and pure following of Christ. This could happen just as Eve was tricked by that snake with his clever lies.
CSB - But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
ASV - But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve in his craftiness, your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity and the purity that is toward Christ.
GNT - I am afraid that your minds will be corrupted and that you will abandon your full and pure devotion to Christ—in the same way that Eve was deceived by the snake's clever lies
TLB - But I am frightened, fearing that in some way you will be led away from your pure and simple devotion to our Lord, just as Eve was deceived by Satan in the Garden of Eden.
AMP - But I am afraid that, even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted and led away from the simplicity of [your sincere and] pure devotion to Christ.
Do you see dear reader how Satan's evil minions have dishonestly changed the emphasis from the simplicity of the gospel, to the simplicity of our pure devotion to Christ? What evil.
We know that the Apostle Paul is talking about the gospel because after the phrase “the simplicity that is in Christ,” in verse 4 he warns the church at Corinth about three dangerous falsehoods:
- Another Jesus
- Another spirit
- Another gospel
In sharp contrast, the Devil's modern Bible perversions change the context to emphasize the simplicity of our sincere and pure devotion to Christ. Dear reader, no amount of sincerity or purity of devotion to Christ has ever saved anybody! We see this truth in Matthew 7:21-23. Those false prophets followed Christ with devotion, calling Him “Lord, Lord.” They boasted of having done “many wonderful works” in Jesus' name.
For the modern incompetent translators to wrest “the simplicity that is in Christ” to refer to one's devotion to Christ, instead of emphasizing the accuracy of the gospel and the doctrine of Christ is gross theological incompetence! Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001) was so right: “If you've seen one Westcott and Hort Bible, you've seen 'em all.” Dr. Hyles said that because all of the modern English Bible revisions share the SAME corruptions. Case in point is the eight corrupt Satanic Bible versions that I just quoted to you. Only the inspired King James Bible gets it right!!!
The two different conveyed meanings are drastically two worlds apart. This is why I continually warn everyone to steer clear of the Devil's counterfeit Bible revisions, each and every last one of them. Remember, Satan is a beautiful liar!
